Arduino 1.6.2

The interface of Arduino may look simple, but this is the case only at first glance. When you start it you will see only a few buttons on top and some tabs that are usual for any program. But once you delve in the functionality of the application you see that it only looks simple, because to use Arduino you have to use a programming language. This is made a bit easier with the option to use examples, but in the end all is left in the hands of your programming skills.

Basic Operations

There are various ways in which you could write the function that you need and here we can include the aforementioned examples. But besides them you can use Sketchbook, Upload, Edit the text in various ways, add comments, increase or decrease Indent, find part of the text, use Verify, Add files etc. All these functions are added by the Auto Format and Archive Sketch, but you can also Fix Encoding, see the Serial Port, user Programmer and many more. Using a lot of sensors the app can control different actuators allowing you to communicate with various hardware, like motors and light, but also it can use sensors to receive input data from your environment.

Arduino is a program that should be used by advanced users for sure. It uses its own language that should be learned so that anyone could use its functions, but once you do then you are capable of changing not only the way you interact with your software but also the way it interacts with the outside world.

  • Communicates with your environment
  • Can record input data
  • Can control a lot of actuators

  • Complex to use
  • Has its own language
